🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 🌹🌹🌹🌹

I went to see Peabo Bryson’s concert yesterday.

It was a heartwarming fantastic live performance. Surprisingly, he greeted all his audiences one by one at the beginning where I said to him “Thank you for coming,“ and he kindly answered “My pleasure!” which totally made my day! It also made me bold enough to try to let myself stand out (like a little kid craving for treats on Halloween 🎃) from the far end of the table in order to get one of the limited number of red roses 🌹🌹🌹🌹 he had to give to his (sexy and beautiful? Lol) female fans at the end.

I got the chance to get one of the roses!!

He was a real entertainer saying a lot about how grateful he was for Nagoya which absolutely made people there happy and smile 😊

I loved his frequent “Arigatou Nagoya! Onegaishimasu!” (ありがとうナゴ〜ヤ!おねが〜いしまぁ〜す!which literally means “Thank you
people in Nagoya for your cooperation, ) very much🤣 He was extremely charming when saying so.

His voice sounded as sexy and powerful as it used to be, and I found it even more so in yesterday’s performance. I was really impressed!
I’m a big fan of his as long as I can remember, but to my great shame, I’d never been to his concert. I knew that he’d come to Japan every year or so, but my hectic life in recent years didn’t allow me to pay close attention to it (I’m very sorry!). I think I would’ve missed it if I hadn’t listened to my “favorite” radio program called “J Break” on ZIP FM where my “favorite” music navigator James Havens was mentioning the Peabo Bryson’s live concert which reminded me of it. So this was a great opportunity for me finally to see him in person. Actually, I’d never been to Nagoya Blue Note, either, but I fell in love with it as soon as I got inside – the top notch atmosphere and delicious foods and drinks, not to mention such great sound that it provides. My daughter and I are coming back there for another live performance next Thursday – Toko Furuuchi’s – which also happened to be promoted in the same radio program on the same day.

This beautiful lady is Toko Furuuchi.

Since it’s going to be my daughter’s first time to be at Nagoya Blue Note then, and now that I can say that I know about there much better than she does, I’ll proudly be showing her around on that day. We’re very much looking forward to the upcoming live concert.

By the way, as for the Peabo Bryson’s live performance, I was able to enjoy not only his singing voice, but how the other players and the chorus ladies were doing as well. Everyone seemed to be having fun performing, but especially, I was fortunate to see how the keyboard player 🎹 was playing right in front of my seat. As I used to be a musician myself, I wished I could be like them who have continued pursuing their lifelong career in music. There must’ve been a lot of difficulties, and they might be having their own predicaments even at the moment, but looking at them playing freely on the stage, I realized how blessing it must be to be able to express their feelings through what they really love – their vocals and musical instruments. I envy them…. It’s disappointing that I’m no longer able to play the piano as much as I used to since I stopped it long time ago. It makes me realize it’s important to stick to what you love, not giving up what you’re doing because like they say “Practice Makes Perfect,” that’s the only way in which you can make your dreams come true which ultimately gives you the greatest luxury in life.

That’s what I was vaguely thinking about while watching their stage. I can’t wait to see the next Peabo Bryson’s concert here in Nagoya Japan😍

I had a big smile in the restroom of Blue Note Nagoya because I couldn’t wait to see Peabo in person in several minutes!!
I’m standing in front of Blue Note Nagoya. It felt a bit stupid and embarrassing to take a selfie among many people, though.

Peabo, thank you for coming to Nagoya this year, and giving us your fans such wonderful moments!

As Peabo was saying during his stage, we should do what we love as much as we can, and love someone we love as much as we can while we can. I’m happy that Peabo is there for us!

Sorry for the silly derogatory video below😅

PS

After the show, I posted my comment on my favorite DJ, James Havens’s facebook entry where he was talking about Peabo Bryson’s show as he also went to see it. Too my disappointment, I couldn’t see him which probably because he watched the first show whereas I watched the second show, I guess. Or, he might have been granted special privileges to go through the aisle that only authorized people could were allowed to use since he was a famous DJ?

Anyway, I got his reply!!

※By 『俺様のお陰だね』, he means “You owe me one.”

Here’s my reply to his comment.

Thank you for your generosity. You made me feel honored. You know what? Having gone to another show – Toko Furuuchi’s – four days after the Peabo’s in the same place, something did turn me on. Something long-forgotten- MUSIC! I’ve been listening to a lot of songs on YouTube for the last few days, and I realized that there were hundreds of great older songs that I’d missed for all these years. When I was younger, I used to play music, and being a pro was the only dream I had. More than 30 years later now, I feel much freer. Music is now something I can enjoy as much as possible in my own way. I’m happy I’ve spent so many years studying English only to find that it helps me sing as many English songs as I want. Being in my mid-50s myself, to be totally honest, I always have mix feelings about your candid comments regarding women older than 40s which make me feel that I’m worthless with no future (Am I taking them a bit too personally?). But I won’t let them get me down anymore because finally finding something that is really precious to me now, I feel proud of my age. I wouldn’t have realized it if I was younger.Since you are the one who made me notice this, it is true that I owe you A LOT! (In fact, with my 85-year old more fragile father to look after, your hilarious and vulgar jokes always make my day much brighter.)I hope you continue to play as many “Oldies but Goodies” in your program as possible to make older women like me happier from now, too! Seems like you’re the only music navigator from ZIP FM who can do something super nice like that (I guess that’s probably because you’re おっさん ((which means old buddy)), too?) Thank you for being there for us listeners!
By the way, I love your “Always Beside You”! Keep up the great work!

After that, I posted my comment on my facebook page that said I got a reply to him, but since he removed almost all of his entries later, that entry of his is no longer shown… Sad…

Anyway, I was glad, Yes!
